Rode Outside

It was gorgeous today so I decided to ride Opie outside. He was AMAZING. He has such a good head on his shoulders; nothing phases him. Even when the other horses in the arena were misbehaving, he stayed level-headed. Worked on keeping a more consistent headset at the lope. I had to go to work so I didn't work any other horses.

Also put on his new fly sheet and fly mask. It's getting so sunny!! He needs to be protected from the sun. I also bought some spf 100+ :)

Good Ride!

(This is from Wednesdays ride...I was just too tired to post yesterday!) Well, I can't complain for sure!! Rode "Opie" in the outdoor arena again. It is so gorgeous and I'm very glad that warmer weather is finally coming our way!!

I am so proud of him. He is such a well behaved boy outside. You know how some horses get antsy and high headed when they go outside to ride? Well, not my horse. He rides just as well as he does insides; nice slow gaits, low headset, collection. He makes me more proud each and every day!

I also rode JD, a 9yr old Spotted Draft gelding that I've been training until he sells. Rode him outside for the first time, and he behaved much better than I expected!! He had awesome gaits!!! His extended english trot was so smooth and flow-y. And his canter....blew me away!!! So smooth and collected!!! Needless to say, I was a very proud mommy. :)

Thanks to Reba of RI Photography for the pictures!!
